Professional windshields

Event Media Group has been selling professional printed foam windshields for radio, TV, and online media for over 15 years.he windshield (also known as windscreen, popfilter or windsock) was originally designed to eliminate wind noise and plosive sounds caused by the pronunciation of letters such as P, F, and S.

However, it has become increasingly important to enhance brand visibility, presence, and recognition by adding a logo to the foam windshield.

Material

Our windscreens are made from high-quality reticulated polyester-based polyurethane audio foam. This may sound technical, but it simply means the foam has an optimal honeycomb structure that allows sound to pass through while being durable and resistant to tearing.

Custom colors, multicolored designs, and gradient effects are created through flocking of the base foam. Flocking involves applying fine fibers to the foam using static electricity and adhesive. This process enhances the surface area, providing additional wind protection and resistance to rain and dirt while giving the foam a luxurious velvety appearance. White windscreens are almost exclusively flocked since plain white foam tends to discolor under UV light. The flock layer has a minimal impact on sound attenuation and high frequencies, which is generally negligible.

Shapes

We offer a wide variety of standard models. On the models page you’ll find an overview of our most popular designs. These include round, triangular, and square shapes. We also provide the longer shotgun windscreens, handheld windscreens, studio windscreens and even small headset windscreens. For almost every microphone capsule there’s a suitable option available.

We can customize the internal bore to fit different microphones or supply a more universal bore size. If required, we can also produce custom shapes. Check out our custom foams page for more information.

Lead time

The standard delivery time for professional printed windshields is approximately 4 weeks. However, we can also produce rush orders within 1–2 weeks, or even faster in some cases, for an additional fee. Contact us to discuss the possibilities. Unprinted windshields are available in our webshop.
